The LRT3 Shah Alam Line is inching toward completion after years of delays, but final safety and operational tests now indicate the launch may slip beyond December 31, 2025.

LRT3 Launch Delay

Industry sources say the line is unlikely to open before the second quarter of 2026 due to challenges in system testing, signalling integration and the mandatory “fault‑free run” required for GoA4 driverless operations.

Despite construction reaching 98.6% earlier this year, unstable software and incomplete documentation have stalled progress. Authorities insist safety comes first as the Siemens‑based system undergoes a 4,000‑kilometre endurance test. For commuters in Petaling Jaya and Klang, the long‑awaited line remains within sight — but not yet within reach.
