Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) has confirmed its support for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-led state government following weeks of shifting positions after the 17th Sabah state election. Party president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said the decision reflected the wishes of party members and division leaders seeking political stability.
STAR Backs GRS
He said GRS lacked sufficient seats to govern alone and required broader cooperation through a unity government. However, Jeffrey stressed STAR remains an opposition party and has not joined GRS, despite one of its assemblymen being appointed assistant minister. STAR, he said, continues to fight for Sabah’s rights regardless of position.
