No political preferences in AGC’s decision to drop Rosmah case, says Anwar

The Attorney General’s Chambers decided not to appeal Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s acquittal on money laundering and tax-evasion charges after determining the case lacked a solid basis. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the AGC acted within the law and emphasised that legal decisions are not made based on political loyalties or hostility. “Do not let dissatisfaction with any group lead us to make decisions based on political preferences,” Anwar said.

He noted that the charges were filed in 2018 and the court found the prosecution’s case weak. Anwar added that other cases with sufficient grounds continue through the appeals process. He reminded all parties that constitutional supremacy and the rule of law must guide every legal outcome.
