A 24-year-old man died at the scene after the car he was driving veered off the road and slammed into an oil palm tree, splitting the vehicle in two along Jalan Jengka–Jerantut in Jengka 11, Maran, Pahang.

The accident occurred around 8.18am as Amir Zulfhadli Azfar Sanuddin from Felda Mawar Jengka 10 was travelling from Bandar Pusat Jengka towards Jengka 8. Maran police chief Superintendent Wong Kim Wai said initial investigations suggest the car skidded to the left. The victim suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead on site. Firefighters took 20 minutes to extricate his body from the wreckage before it was sent to Jengka Hospital for post-mortem.
