Pathum Thani, December 14 — Malaysia’s top women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M Thinaah clinched gold at the SEA Games Thailand 2025, ending a 10-year national drought in the event. The world No. 5 duo outlasted Indonesia’s Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma-Meilysa Trias Puspitasari in an intense 86-minute final, winning 21-16, 19-21, 21-17.

Gold Drought

After dominating the first set and surging early in the second, they overcame errors to force a decider, rallying from 13-16 down in the third with a powerful smash sealing victory. This marks their debut SEA Games gold, last won by Malaysia in 2015, and the badminton team’s first gold here.
