Kuala Lumpur, December 15 — A Malaysian flight attendant, Nurfarahshazreen Mohamad Mustaffar, 35, expressed profound gratitude after her airline announced optional uniforms that cover the aurat for female cabin crew, set to begin early next year.
Aurat-Covering Uniform
Starting her career in 2014, she was laid off in 2020 during the pandemic and began wearing the headscarf amid personal challenges including divorce. Rehired in 2022, she often requested Jeddah-Madinah routes where modest dress is required.
Her viral Threads post about anxiety over not covering aurat on duty garnered over 22,000 likes, with netizens offering support. Nurfarahshazreen noted many colleagues share the same wish. NST
