Selayang, December 15 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasised that there is no direct relationship between Umno and DAP, addressing MCA’s concerns over possible cooperation in the next general election.
Direct Ties
He clarified that ties exist solely between coalitions Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH), not on a party-to-party basis. Zahid described the issue as resolvable through understanding and political rationale, urging it be left to top leadership of both coalitions when GE16 approaches.
This follows MCA’s recent rejection of any DAP cooperation, amid BN’s continued alliance with PH in the unity government.
