Several conservatives have criticised President Donald Trump for a social media post blaming filmmaker Rob Reiner’s death on “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” even as police continued investigating the apparent homicide of Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.
Conservative Americans Upset with Trump’s Comments
The couple were found stabbed in their Los Angeles home, and their son, Nick Reiner, was taken into custody. Trump doubled down on his remarks during a press conference, calling Reiner “deranged,” prompting backlash from Republican lawmakers who said the comments were inappropriate and disrespectful.
Reiner, a prominent Democrat and longtime critic of Trump, had been active in political advocacy and fundraising.
