In Singapore, a Doctor Now Jailed 8 Weeks for Filming Woman in Shower

A former Sengkang General Hospital doctor, Jonathan Soh Jingyao, 34, was sentenced to eight weeks’ jail on December 15 for secretly filming a 31-year-old woman showering in April 2024. Soh, who breached a relationship of trust with the victim, held his phone near a window to record her in a residential unit’s common toilet.

The victim spotted the device, confronted him, and police were called. Despite an IMH report diagnosing voyeuristic disorder and recommending a Mandatory Treatment Order, the judge opted for imprisonment, noting Soh retained substantial self-control. Soh pleaded guilty; his wife supported him in court.
