British folk musician Emily Portman discovered an entire AI‑made album uploaded under her name, mimicking her style and instrumentation. 

AI-Generated Fake Songs Flooding Streaming Services

Australian musician Paul Bender faced a similar issue when AI‑generated tracks appeared on his band’s profile, highlighting weak security measures across streaming services. 

As AI music tools become more sophisticated, scammers exploit them to earn royalties, even targeting deceased artists’ catalogues. Artists and industry groups are urging platforms to strengthen verification systems as AI‑driven fraud becomes harder to detect.
