Tensions erupted at a gold mine in Ketapang, West Kalimantan, when 15 Chinese foreign workers allegedly attacked Indonesian National Army (TNI) soldiers on December 14, 2025. The incident began after security spotted a drone flying over PT Sultan Rafli Mandiri (PT SRM) site around 3:30 pm. Five TNI members from Combat Engineer Battalion 6, on training, joined the pursuit and confronted four operators.
Chinese Workers
Suddenly, 11 more workers appeared, armed with sharp weapons, airsoft guns, and electric devices, injuring five soldiers and damaging two company vehicles. Police are investigating the motive, while immigration detained the workers. The company denies any assault on soldiers. (118 words)
