Kuala Lumpur: A 47-year-old babysitter, Nurdiana Lanonming, was sentenced to five years in prison by the Kajang Sessions Court for abusing a four-year-old boy in her care. Judge Mazuliana Abdul Rashid imposed the sentence after the defence failed to raise reasonable doubt.
Kajang Babysitter Jailed
Nurdiana kicked the boy’s right thigh on June 20, 2023, causing a femur fracture requiring surgery. She must also complete 36 hours of community service and sign a three-year good behaviour bond post-release. Charged under the Child Act 2001, she lacked a valid babysitter certificate. The court rejected her stay application.
