Selangor Maintains Ban on Pets in Shopping Malls, Says State Exco

The ban on bringing pets into shopping malls in Selangor remains in effect, said State Exco for Local Government and Tourism, Datuk Ng Suee Lim. While acknowledging that some countries allow pets in public spaces, Ng emphasized that Malaysia’s multicultural society requires careful consideration before adopting similar policies. 

Selangor Maintains Ban on Pets in Malls

He noted that Selangor, as a progressive state, will review existing guidelines to maintain social harmony. His remarks came after a mall in the Klang Valley allowed pets inside, prompting public debate. Ng spoke during a public cleanliness operation in Section 7, joined by KDEB Waste Management’s Managing Director, Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir.
