Warner Bros Rejects Paramount’s $108B Bid, Sticks With Netflix Merger

Warner Bros. Discovery has rejected Paramount’s US$108.4 billion hostile takeover bid, reaffirming its commitment to merge with Netflix in an US$83 billion deal. The company cited concerns over Paramount’s opaque financing, including reliance on foreign sovereign wealth funds and lack of family commitment. 

Warner Bros Sticking with Netflix

Netflix’s offer, backed by institutional debt and free of contingencies, was deemed more secure. The bidding war drew commentary from President Trump and involved figures like David Ellison and Jared Kushner. 

As Netflix emerges as the likely acquirer, Hollywood insiders have voiced concern over its dominance and disruption of traditional film distribution, despite Netflix’s promise to preserve cinema releases.
