BANGKOK, 19 December 2025 – Young Malaysian fighter Muhammad Mikail Ghazali Zulfikar, aged 16, delivered a stunning debut performance to secure gold in the men’s 57kg Muay Thai event at the 2025 SEA Games Thailand. Facing home favourite Suphakon Sirilun in a packed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Mikail remained composed amid roaring local support.

He edged the first round 10-9 with disciplined control, matched Suphakon’s aggressive second-round push to lead again 10-9, and sealed victory in a fierce third round. Mikail’s ability to read his opponent and maintain consistent attacks proved decisive, earning Malaysia another precious gold medal in the biennial Games.
