President Donald Trump is set to sign the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a nearly $1 trillion defense bill authorizing $901 billion in military spending — $8 billion more than he requested.
Trump to Sign Massive Defense Budget
The legislation includes $800 million in aid for Ukraine, $175 million for Baltic defense, and restrictions on reducing U.S. forces in Europe. While Trump has been reluctant to expand European security commitments, the bill reflects bipartisan compromise.
The White House said Trump supports the measure as it codifies elements of his executive orders, including missile defense funding and the removal of diversity programs at the Pentagon.
