ASEAN foreign ministers will gather in Kuala Lumpur on Monday for a special meeting to address tensions between Cambodia and Thailand. Chaired by Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, the session will include 23 officials, among them ASEAN Secretary‑General Dr Kao Kim Hourn.

Cambodia’s Prak Sokhonn and Thailand’s Sihasak Phuangketkeow will attend, alongside representatives from Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Timor‑Leste, the Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, and Myanmar (virtually). Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry said the meeting follows a Dec 11 decision by the three prime ministers and aims to explore steps toward de‑escalation, reflecting ASEAN’s commitment to unity, peace, and regional stability.
