The Kuala Lumpur High Court has imposed a daily fine of RM20,000 on a 75‑year‑old man until he complies with an order to equally divide RM60 million worth of matrimonial assets with his wife following their judicial separation.
Man Ordered to Split Assets with Wife
Justice Sumathi Murugiah ruled that the man, anonymised as PAI, had breached post‑trial and consequential orders, giving him 30 days to comply or face imprisonment.
The wife, HAI, initiated contempt proceedings after the husband failed to carry out joint valuations as directed. The case stems from a 2024 judgment awarding her half the assets, alongside RM200,000 damages from a co‑respondent.
