While conventional platforms remain useful for deterring gray‑zone activities, Lee warned that relying on a small number of sophisticated systems could leave Taiwan vulnerable. Inspired by lessons from Ukraine, Taiwan is investing heavily in drones, missiles, and air defense, including plans to produce 200,000 drones annually by 2030.
