New: Grab driver refuses to load luggage into car, cancels Changi airport ride

A woman arriving on a red-eye flight at 3am was left stranded when her Grab driver cancelled the booking after she did not assist in loading her luggage. The passenger, posting on TikTok (@wanderwithcali) on Dec 22, had two suitcases, a carton, and carry-ons, prompting her to book a six-seater vehicle.

She recounted the driver opening the boot but refusing to load items, saying, “I’m a driver, I’m not a luggage handler.” He then cancelled the ride. Her next Grab driver helped without prompting. The video garnered over 12,200 views. Grab confirmed it is investigating after contacting both parties.

NOTE: Grab drivers are encouraged to load luggage to help the passenger but are not obliged to do so!
