In the ongoing 1MDB trial, High Court Judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah ruled that Najib Razak is barred from raising the Arab donation defence again. Citing findings from the SRC International case—upheld by higher courts—Sequerah described the claim as “incapable of belief,” an “unbelievable tale” surpassing even those from the Arabian Nights, and a “concoction bereft of any credibility.”
“The original letters had not been produced,” the judge says.

The court conducted an independent assessment, concluding the alleged donations were unbelievable and that Najib failed to rebut gratification charges or raise reasonable doubt on abuse of power. The judge is now addressing defence claims of forged signatures.
