LONDON – King Charles and Prince William are highly likely to make separate US trips in 2026 as part of a diplomatic “charm offensive” towards President Donald Trump. The King’s April visit – his first to America as monarch – coincides with the 250th anniversary of US independence. Prince William will follow during the summer World Cup.

The trips aim to revive stalled UK-US trade negotiations, including a £31 billion “tech prosperity” deal delayed over digital taxes and food import rules. Neither visit includes Prince Harry and Meghan in California, with reports suggesting the Sussexes will be excluded.
