Mehdi Paryavi, CEO of the International Data Center Authority, has warned that excessive reliance on AI may erode workers’ confidence and critical thinking skills. While AI makes employees appear faster and more productive, he said it risks “quiet cognitive erosion” and “down‑skilling,” especially among younger staff who have yet to build strong foundations.

Research Shows AI’s Flaws

Research from the Work AI Institute shows AI creates an illusion of expertise, leaving underlying skills to atrophy. Paryavi urged companies to limit AI use by role, keep humans leading creative thinking, and ensure people — not machines — quality‑check output to prevent careers from hollowing out.
