A Singaporean man was sentenced to eight months and nine weeks in prison, six strokes of the cane, and a two‑year driving ban after pleading guilty to four charges, including voluntarily causing hurt.
Singaporean Man Caned for Assault
The 26‑year‑old, who was unlicensed, borrowed a car on 5 July 2022 and confronted his ex‑girlfriend and her male friend at Canberra Street. He punched the man, then repeatedly assaulted the woman, causing her to fall.
Later, at a car park, he attempted to run the male victim over. Doctors later confirmed the woman sustained a head laceration and shoulder injuries.
