Following Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation as PN Chairman, several coalition leaders have stepped down from their posts. PN Secretary‑General Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali announced he will resign effective 1 January 2026, including his role as Selangor liaison committee chairman.
Wave of Resignations in PN
Johor PN Chairman Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal also confirmed his resignation, though he denied any internal crisis.
Negeri Sembilan PN Chairman Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker and Perak PN Chairman Dato’ Seri Faizal Azumu later followed suit, citing respect for party hierarchy and Muhyiddin’s departure. Faizal, a former Youth and Sports Minister, expressed gratitude to Perak PN members in his statement.
