Residents of Johor Baru’s People’s Housing Programme (PPR) flats have welcomed the state government’s RM100 million allocation under Budget 2026 to urgently improve and maintain their homes.
Johor Residents Happy with PPR Upgrades
The funds, part of the RM438.23 million Perumahan Kasih Johor initiative, come after years of complaints about poor hygiene, ageing infrastructure, vandalism, and limited parking. Residents highlighted issues such as rubbish disposal, triple-parking that blocks emergency access, vandalised lifts, stray animals, and unreliable water and electricity supply.
They hope the allocation will lead to repainting, proper parking facilities, and regular inspections to ensure safety, comfort, and better living conditions for the 32,367 residents.
