Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has urged Umno and PAS, Malaysia’s two largest Malay-based parties, to set aside past differences and unite for the sake of religion, race, and nation. Speaking at the Umno Youth Special Convention in Kuala Lumpur, themed “Umno’s Direction in the Unity Government,” he stressed that such unity is essential for Malay survival in an increasingly challenging political environment.

Akmal acknowledged previous conflicts and hurt feelings but insisted it is time to forgive, close old chapters, and rebuild trust. He noted grassroots support for unity and blamed divisions on leadership failures, warning against continued Malay humiliation in their homeland.
