The government has allocated RM800 million for the Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP) programme, providing a one‑off RM150 payment to all students from Year One to Form Six in 2026.
RM800 Million for School Aid
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said parents must attend schools to collect the aid, ensuring the funds are used for their children’s needs while engaging with teachers. Distribution begins on January 11.
Anwar also announced RM200 million to repair dilapidated Sekolah Agama Rakyat (SAR) and tahfiz schools, RM80 million for Chinese vernacular schools (SJKC), and RM50 million for Tamil schools (SJKT). He stressed inclusivity and improving facilities across all education streams.
