New: UMNO Youth’s Call to Exit Unity Government Needs Supreme Council Approval

Barisan Nasional Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir has stated that UMNO Youth’s call to withdraw from the Unity Government cannot be acted on immediately and must first be decided by UMNO’s Supreme Working Council (MKT).

As an MKT member, Zambry emphasised maturity in handling grassroots sentiments, noting Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh’s views would be submitted to the council. Meanwhile, Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim urged UMNO Youth to prioritise eradicating corruption among party leaders, particularly those linked to the 1MDB scandal, warning that defending them would betray national interests ahead of the next general election.
