Residents of Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur, are urging Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh to intervene against plans to redevelop two plots of public land — one a playground, the other reserved for a police station — into high‑rise condominiums.

The playground has already been demolished, sparking outrage. Protect Taman Desa, a community group, highlighted worsening traffic, strained infrastructure, and loss of public amenities in their appeal.
They referenced Yeoh’s past success in saving TTDI’s Taman Rimba Kiara park. Residents voted unanimously against the project and are raising funds for legal action, insisting their neighbourhood must not be sacrificed to developers.
