A 34-year-old man, Jonathan Gerlach, from Ephrata, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Tuesday after authorities found more than 100 full or partial sets of human remains in his home, a storage unit, and his vehicle. Police observed bones and skulls in plain view as he left Mount Moriah Cemetery near Philadelphia carrying a burlap bag and crowbar.

District Attorney Tanner Rouse described the scene as a “horror movie come to life,” noting the remains included infants and individuals from centuries ago. Gerlach allegedly admitted to stealing about 30 sets, but investigators suspect far more. He faces over 450 counts including abuse of corpse, theft, and receiving stolen property. Bail is set at US$1 million, with arraignment on January 20. – Photo YouTube
