A 66-year-old Buddhist monk in Seoul has been sentenced to one year in prison for repeated violent attacks on his common-law wife. The Seoul Central District Court found him guilty of aggravated assault and intimidation after incidents including striking her neck, grabbing her hair, and threatening her with knives while intoxicated.
