Kelantan Police Urge Residents to Postpone Travel to Southern Thailand After Bomb Attacks

KOTA BHARU: Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat has advised residents to postpone travel to southern Thailand following a series of bomb explosions targeting petrol stations in the region on Sunday. Speaking to reporters, he urged the public to avoid unnecessary risks and exercise heightened caution if travel is essential.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely in cooperation with Thai security forces. The attacks hit five PTT stations in Narathiwat, four in Yala, and two in Pattani around 1.10am, prompting Thailand to impose an immediate curfew in Narathiwat. Preliminary reports suggest masked armed groups carried out the bombings and arson. Malaysians near the border are reminded to stay vigilant and follow official advisories. Photo: Asean Now
