UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi accused a faction within DAP, dubbed “Team B” and not aligned with the party’s main leadership, of orchestrating critical statements against former prime minister Najib Razak and UMNO Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh.

Speaking at the UMNO General Assembly, Zahid revealed he questioned DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke about the remarks and learned about the internal division from him. The controversy stems from recent comments by DAP figures, including Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin, who celebrated the court’s rejection of Najib’s house arrest bid. Loke said he privately disagreed with Yeo’s post but did not reprimand her, as tensions rise and calls grow within UMNO to exit the unity government with DAP.
