PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang today firmly rejected unity models he described as “man-made” and silent on injustice, stating the party will only support unity grounded in Islamic principles. In a Facebook post, he criticised the current unity government for embracing pluralism, liberalism, and extremism, likening cooperation to a “leaking ship” sinking under contradictions.

He emphasised that true unity requires God-fearing leadership, justice, and Malay-Muslim guidance extended to all Malaysians, led by knowledgeable Islamic scholars rather than the ignorant. The statement responds to Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s recent call for a “grand collaboration” to consolidate Malay-Muslim efforts while preserving government stability.
