Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged that the proposed centralized pig farming project in Bukit Tagar, Selangor be cancelled or relocated to a more suitable site. He said the matter, which has caused unease among local residents, was discussed in the Cabinet meeting he chaired.

Although the issue falls under the jurisdiction of the Selangor state government, Anwar stressed that the federal government remains concerned due to its public impact. Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah previously expressed sadness and disapproval over temporary pig farming operations in Tanjong Sepat, citing risks of large‑scale farming oriented towards exports.
