A tougher stance is being urged over the misuse of Malaysia’s subsidised RON95 fuel. Tebrau MP Jimmy Puah has proposed blacklisting foreign-registered vehicles caught pumping RON95, barring them from entering Malaysia for up to two years. Speaking in Parliament on Jan 21, Puah said the issue is about upholding the law, not discrimination.

His remarks followed a viral Johor incident involving a foreign car with an obscured number plate. While RON95 is reserved for Malaysians, Puah noted that even unsubsidised RON97 remains far cheaper than fuel prices in Singapore.
