Tensions between PAS and Bersatu in Perlis remain unresolved as PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari reminded Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah not to interfere in party matters.

This followed Abu Bakar’s suggestion to retain three former PAS assemblymen as independents despite their expulsion for disciplinary breaches. Fadhli stressed PAS cannot compromise on discipline, recalling Abu Bakar’s own “war” declaration against former MB Shukri Ramli in 2023.
PAS leaders reaffirmed that the expulsion was a unanimous central decision, though Hashim Jasin hinted at possible review. The three ex‑assemblymen have challenged the ruling in court, while PAS refuses to join Abu Bakar’s exco.
