Butterworth – A homeless man believed to be in his 60s died at Seberang Jaya Hospital around 7:30 pm yesterday, more than 24 hours after being assaulted at a food court in Kampung Jawa. He was rushed to the hospital at about 2:48 am the previous day suffering from multiple fractured ribs on the left side after being punched by a suspect. An autopsy conducted today confirmed the cause of death as coronary heart disease, compounded by the rib fractures.
Homeless Man Dies
Police arrested a homeless man in his 40s, who tested positive for drugs. The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt. Authorities are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and assist the investigation.
