KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 — The Defence Intelligence Chief has pleaded not guilty to charges of accepting bribes amounting to USD20,000 and RM64,000, according to Berita Hrian. The charges were read at the Sessions Court, where he denied involvement in corrupt practices.

Prosecutors alleged the payments were received in exchange for favours linked to defence-related matters. The accused, however, maintained his innocence, stressing that the allegations were baseless. The court has set dates for further hearings, with the case drawing significant public attention due to its implications on national security and governance.
