BATU CAVES – Former police officer Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, better known as “Inspector Sheila,” was arrested yesterday after allegedly causing a disturbance during Thaipusam celebrations. Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed she was detained under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for insulting the modesty of an individual.

A one-day remand was obtained. The arrest followed an altercation with traders near the temple, captured in a viral video showing her being handcuffed by female officers around 4am. Investigations are ongoing.
