KUALA LUMPUR – The widow of former Finance Minister Tun Dr Daim Zainuddin, Toh Puan Na’imah Abdul Khalid, will apply to the Sessions Court here for a gag order against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Counsel Rajesh Nagarajan, representing the 69-year-old, announced this during a mention of her case for failing to declare 12 assets to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), including properties in the capital and Penang
Gag Order
The application follows 17 media-reported statements by Anwar from January 2024 to July 2025, deemed sub judice and prejudicial to Na’imah and her family. The lawyer highlighted terms like “sakau” (embezzle) and “stealing billions of ringgit” allegedly referring to the late Tun Daim and Na’imah. He argued the remarks risk executive interference, given they come from the Prime Minister while the case remains at the mention stage.
