Malaysia’s national energy company Petronas is poised to sign a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with QatarEnergy, aimed at securing additional LNG sources to meet rising domestic demand and address shrinking gas reserves.

The potential deal could involve up to 2 million metric tons of LNG per year, helping ensure supply reliability as Malaysia expands its regasification and energy security infrastructure.
