A desperate search is underway after a light aircraft crashed into shallow waters off the coast of South Australia late Friday afternoon.
Rescue crews are scouring the waters near Murray Mouth at Goolwa South, south of Adelaide, following the crash at around 4.30pm. Emergency services remain on the scene, supported by a police helicopter hovering above the ocean.

Other Sea Rescue units and three Country Fire Service members are assisting in the operation. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has confirmed it is gathering information about the incident, while a recovery team is expected to be deployed shortly.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any survivors have been located.
