Vietnam has announced it will impose temporary anti-dumping tariffs ranging from 41.07% to 63.39% on colourless float glass imports from Malaysia, following a preliminary probe that found such imports caused “significant and evident” harm to Vietnam’s domestic glass industry.

The tariffs are slated to begin on Feb 13, 2026 and will remain in place for 120 days, affecting Malaysian exporters and potentially altering regional trade flows in the construction materials sector.

Vietnam’s move reflects increasing use of trade remedy measures in Southeast Asia as countries protect local industries amid heightened global competition and uneven market conditions.
