A new study suggests that drinking over 400 milligrams of caffeine daily, roughly equivalent to a venti coffee at Starbucks, could raise cardiovascular risks even for healthy individuals. Lead author Nency Kagathara, of Zydus Medical College in India, explains that caffeine can disturb the parasympathetic system, elevating heart rate and blood pressure over time. Tracking the vitals of 92 healthy adults aged 18 to 45, researchers found significant increases in blood pressure among those consuming high amounts of caf feine daily. Kagathara urges more awareness, noting that routine caf feine intake may increase susceptibility to hypertension and other heart-related issues.
