Several people went missing recently in Sabah near rivers leading to the wildlife rangers to terminate five crocodiles though they were not believed to be involved in the attacks. Department director Augustine Tuuga says the rangers were focused on hunting for larger crocodiles in the Kota Belud, Lahad Datu and Tawau districts, where people have been attacked.

Over the past month, three suspected crocodile attacks were reported in the three districts and the victims have yet to be found. on Sept 22 in Kota Belud, 20-year-old Yusri Dulpi was attacked while fishing and is still missing. On Oct 15 in Lahad Datu, 50-year-old Salim Sakka went missing after a suspected crocodile attack. In Tawau last Thursday, Asdar was believed to have been snatched by one of the crawlers.
