Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has dismissed claims that Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) employs only a small number of Indian and Chinese staff, calling the allegations inaccurate and misleading.

Hannah Yeoh Refutes Allegations on DBKL Staff Diversity

She clarified that DBKL’s workforce reflects broader diversity and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could create unnecessary racial tension. Yeoh stressed that employment practices within government agencies must remain fair and inclusive.

The minister also called for responsible discourse when discussing sensitive issues involving race and representation. She emphasised that maintaining unity requires accurate information and constructive dialogue rather than speculation or politically motivated narratives.
