The Federal Court today convicted brothers Sagar Sharma, 30, and Shubham Sharma, 25, for murdering Lim Ah Kee, 79, and Tan Siew Mee, 52, in 2019. The couple’s bodies were found in suitcases dumped in drains in Selangor. Overturning the Court of Appeal’s acquittal, the panel, led by Abu Bakar Jais, cited overwhelming circumstantial evidence.

The brothers, former security guards, were sentenced to 32 years in prison with 12 strokes of the rotan each, effective from their 2019 arrest. The prosecution proved the brothers handled the suitcases and lived with the victims.
