Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, attended his first National Day as the 17th Agong and expressed his happiness with the smooth and timely proceedings. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described it as the best celebration he has seen. The event began with the arrival of national leaders and officially commenced at 8 a.m.
